Aug 29, 2019 (newstodate): Finland's Helsinki Airport is seeing a sustained sound increase in cargo volumes during Jan-Jul 2019.
A total of 128,206 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled at the airport during the seven months of 2019, up 15.5 percent, y-o-y.
The growth was not least driven by an increase by 15,6 percent in international cargo, to a total of 121,821 tonnes.
An increase by 17,1 percent was also seen in the volumes of international mail volumes, to 5,315 tonnes.
The increase in volumes was, however, most marked in the first four months of the year, while growth rates have since declined, albeit still in two-digit figures, during the latter three months of the period recorded.
