Aug 08, 2019 (newstodate): The Danish regional aircraft lessor Nordic Aviation Capital scores high among the global leasing companies in 2018.
According to a table generated by FlightAscend Consultancy, NAC is ranked #5 on the list comprising 30 top aircraft leasing companies round the world.
NAC thus commanded a fleet of 471 aircraft by the end of 2018 plus orders placed for another 48 aircraft.
Topping the list is GECAS with 1,229 aircraft plus 369 orders, followed by AerCap with 1,056 aircraft and 362 orders, Avolon with 521 aircraft plus 400 orders, and BBAM with 498 aircraft and no orders placed by the end of the year.
In total, the 30 leading aircraft leasing companies had 12,263 aircraft on their shelves, with orders placed for another 3,526 aircraft in 2018.
As for Nordic Aviation Capital, the fleet is set to grow further as the company signed a MoU with Airbus at this year's Paris Air Show for 20 A220 Family aircraft, adding this new aircraft type to its fleet portfolio, as well as signing a LoI with ATR for delivery of up to over 100 ATR72-600 aircraft including firm orders for 35 ATR72-600, with options for a further 35 and purchase rights for another 35 aircraft.
