Aug 14, 2019 (newstodate): In summer 2020, American Airlines is pulling out from the route served seasonally from summer 2017 between Dallas and Keflavik, in Iceland - but retaining its presence in the Icelandic market.
Starting from June 4, 2020, the carrier will be offering seasonal flights on the route between Philadelphia and Keflavik with daily rotations using Boeing 757 aircraft.
The route will be operated in competition with Icelandair that has been in the air between the two destinations since summer 2017.
Other US carriers to offer services to Iceland in summer 2020 are Delta Air Lines with seasonal flights from Minneapolis starting in summer 2015 and from New York JFK since summer 2011, and United Airlines since summer 2018 flying into Keflavik from New York Newark during summer season.
