Aug 29, 2019 (newstodate): In July, Russia abruptly enforced a long-existing restriction on transiting seafood through Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, forcing AirBridgeCargo to find alternatives to its freighter service at Oslo Airport.
A temporary solution was found in routing the flights from Oslo to Seoul via Karaganda Airport in Kazakhstan for re-fuelling.
But this has come to a dead end as well..
It has emerged that there is no licence for seafood imports from Kazakhstan into South Korea, causing ABC to again suspend its normally two weekly freighter operations at Oslo Airport pending a permanent solution to the issues.
Since November 15, 2016, AirBridgeCargo has been offering a twice-weekly freighter service from Oslo to Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, even going up to three weekly flights from May 28, 2019.
