Aug 06, 2019 (newstodate): This Tuesday will see only one of two scheduled AirBridgeCargo freighter flights from Oslo to South Korea.
To bypass the problem with the Russian authorities, ABC Airlines will be routing the flight via Kazakhstan for re-fuelling instead of transferring the flight and its seafood cargo through Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport.
Official information from ABC Airlines has now shed some light on the background for the problems that emerged last Tuesday when one freighter was abruptly denied landing rights at Moscow, leaving the second flight to depart from Oslo without the booked seafood shipments.
-On 30th of July, the Customs Agency at Sheremetyevo Airport did not allow us to proceed with transit operations from Europe via Sheremetyevo to Asia for shipments of fresh salmon.
-The Customs Agency made such decision based on existing laws of the Russian Federation. However, this law did not impact any transit shipments in the past, says Alexey Zotov, ABC Commercial Director, in a letter to customers.
ABC Airlines expects that the Customs Agency at Sheremetyevo will maintain its position, forcing the carrier to look for alternative routings outside Russian territory.
