Jul 04, 2019 (newstodate): Uzbekistan Airways has taken delivery of another Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
The fifth Boeing 787-8 aircraft landed at Tashkent International Airport on July 2, shortly after the arrival of the airline's fourth Dreamliner on April 17, 2019.
According to the carrier’s development plan, a total of six Boeing 787-8 aircraft will be in the fleet in 2020, making the carrier the largest operator of this type in the CIS region.
The carrier took delivery of its first Boeing 787-8 aircraft, ordered in 2008, on August 31, 2016.
Also part of the ongoing fleet expansion is the delivery earlier this year of two Airbus A320neo aircraft
After phasing out the last remaining Il-114-100 turboprop aircraft from May 2018, Uzbekistan Airways' fleet comprises a total of 29 aircraft including nine Airbus A320, two Airbus A320neo, five Boeing 757, eight Boeing 767 including two in cargo version, and now five Boeing 787-8.
