Jul 04, 2019 (newstodate): China's import of fresh Norwegian salmon almost doubled in the first half of this year.
A total of 12,146 tonnes of salmon was delivered to the Chinese market, an increase by 92 percent, y-o-y.
Norwegian salmon exports to Hong Kong were however down by 20 percent to 6,435 tonnes during the H1 period.
Exports to Taiwan showed a healthy increase by 31 percent to 5,333 tonnes, and Singapore imported 3,395 tonnes, an increase by 30 percent, y-o-y.
Little development was seen in the Japanese market's import of Norwegian salmon - 7,783 tonnes and only seven percent up on H1/2018.
