According to Icelandic media, a group of investors including two ex-WOW Air executives is in the process of setting up a new carrier, tentatively named WAB Air - We are Back!
Reports claim that the planned new low-cost carrier will take to the air by autumn 2020 with a fleet of six aircraft operating flights to initially 14 destinations, and the process of applying for an operating licence has already been started.
According to Markacurinn, a supplement to the business journal Vidskiptabladid, 75 percent of the initial investments will be provided by the Irish investment fund Avianta Capital, with the remaining 25 percent secured by the Icelandic investment company Neo, owned by two former WOW Air directors.
