Jul 05, 2019 (newstodate): Driven not least by positive trends in the Scandinavian and Finnish markets, Finnair continued to deliver strong increases in cargo volumes in the first half of 2019.
During January-June 2019 Finnair thus generated 82,026 tonnes of cargo, an increase by no less than 23.3 percent, y-o-y.
Accounting for 59,555 tonnes, loads on the Asian traffic were up 13.2 percent, loads in the European traffic even grew by 70.8 percent to 16,014 tonnes, while loads on the North Atlantic lanes also increased by 43.6 percent to 6,148 tonnes.
In June 2019 alone, growth reached 60.1 percent in European traffic, NAM loads were up 44.6 percent, while the Asian traffic remained more stable, only up 3.6 percent, all compared to June 2018.
All together, Finnair handled 14,849 tonnes, up 6.8 percent, y-o-y, in June 2019.
