Jul 29, 2019 (newstodate): The Faroese carrier Atlantic Airways has now expanded its aircraft fleet with delivery of its first of two Airbus A320neo aircraft under a leasing agreement with ALC.    
   Originally slated for March 2019, the delivery was later postponed till June - but the aircraft was finally  handed over to the airline on July 12, 2019.
   The second aircraft will follow by Spring 2020, and on the second day of this year's Paris Air Show Atlantic Airways placed a follow-up order with Airbus for another two Airbus A320neo aircraft for delivery in H2, 2023, and H2, 2024, respectively.  
   The increased aircraft capacity will allow Atlantic Airways to develop its existing route network as well as adding new potentials, including a series of 4-6 rotations between the Faroe Islands and New York from September 2019 with Airbus A320neo aircraft pending full authorizations by the government bodies involved.
