Jun 26, 2019 (newstodate): Iraqi Airways has now increased frequency on one of its routes connecting Iraq and Denmark.
Since June 17, 2019, the carrier is to offer four, against earlier three, weekly rotations on the route from Baghdad via Sulaymaniyah to Copenhagen, using Airbus A320 aircraft.
Iraqi Airways is also operating flights on the route from Baghdad via Erbil, in Iraqi Kurdistan, and from Baghdad via Najaf to Copenhagen, each with one weekly non-stop rotation.
After a long period of suspension, Iraqi Airways reintroduced flights to European destinations, including to Denmark, with the first flights on August 6, 2016, from Baghdad, Basra and Najaf to Copenhagen Airport.
In 2015, Iraqi Airways was included in the list of air carriers banned in the European Union, so flights into the EU are operated by chartered capacity from other carriers.
