Jun 14, 2019 (newstodate): Latvia's Minister of Transportation sees a bright future for the country's aviation industry.
Opening the Riga Aviation Forum 2019 in Riga yesterday, the minister pointed to the growth potentials for Riga Airport, that is already the largest in the Baltic region.
-With the implementation of the Rail Baltica connecting all three Baltic states as well as Finland and Poland, Riga Airport's catchment area will expand to comprise not only Lithuania and Estonia, but also neighbouring markets, the minister said.
Also Latvia's Liepaja and Palanga Airports have a strong role to play, and growth plans must include both passenger and cargo traffic as well as other aviation industries such as aircraft maintenance, the minister pointed out.
