Jun 13, 2019 (newstodate): Without much of a fanfare, Finnair Cargo has now completed the CEIV certification of the COOL Nordic Terminal at Helsinki Airport.
The COOL Terminal was awarded its CEIV certificate on May 24, 2019, completing a long process launched as the cargo terminal was commissioned on January 8, 2018, and the eventual certification was earlier expected already before the end of 2018.
From the start, the facilities were built on the specs of CEIV, but the full certification process took longer than originally expected.
-The temperature mapping scheduled for winter months was done already in the beginning of this year, but the completion of the official certification process was delayed due to our operations experts being occupied with multiple other projects during this spring, including the recent terminal operator change, says Milla Nyholm, Finnair Cargo Manager, Marketing and Sustainability.
Finnair Cargo has been among the front-runners in the airline CEIV process and was awarded with IATA's PHARMA certificate on June 30, 2015, as the first airline in the world.
