Jun 17, 2019 (newstodate): Chinese investors are sighting Croatia's Osijek Airport for a role in cargo and logistics.
According to the Chinese Southeast European Business Association, CSEBA, Chinese investors are interested in constructing a cargo and logistics centre at Osijek Airport, and Croatia's government is expecting to Chinese parties to launch negotiations over a LoI within soon.
A Chinese delegation has been visiting the area earlier this month to assess the potentials of the airport that is also close to a river port, the pan-European Vc motorway and railway corridor as well as the borders with Hungary and with Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
CSEBA, set up in February 2014 on the initiative of former Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, has been working hard to establish direct air links between Croatia and China, both in the passenger and cargo business - so far with limited success.
