Jun 18, 2019 (newstodate): Since August 2018, Korean Air has been online with direct non-stop flights to Croatia on a year-round basis after years with seasonal summer operations only.
The route has proved a success with high load factors, and Korean Air is to increase capacity on the route from September 2019, replacing the Airbus A330-200 with Boeing 787-9 aircraft on the three weekly rotations.
In 2018, Zagreb ranked #1 among destinations on Koran Air's Summer 2018 charter schedule, ahead of Oslo, Glasgow and Marseilles.
Like last year, the carrier will be operating the route via Zurich during the winter schedule, continuing with the Boeing 787-9 aircraft instead of the Boeing 777-200ER in winter 2018/19.
Korean Air paid its first-ever visit to Croatia in September 2010, operating two chartered Boeing 777 flights from Seoul to Zagreb Airport on September 18 and 25, respectively, carrying Korean and other Asian tourists on their first visit to the country.
