May 22, 2019 (newstodate): By the end of week 19, 2019, ending May 12, Norway's exports of fresh salmon to the Chinese market had increased by 79 percent, y-o-y.
A total of 8,761 tonnes of salmon had thus been lifted from Norway to China during the period January 1-May 1, 2019.
Another 4,906 tonnes of salmon hit the market in Hong Kong, which was, however, a decline by 20 percent.
Exports to Taiwan were 3,583 tonnes during the period, increasing by 15 percent.
Since May 15, 2019, Norway's seafood exporters have gained the first direct non-stop air logistics solution to China as Hainan Airlines launched flights on the route between Oslo and Beijing offering three weekly rotations with Airbus A330-300/Airbus A330-200 aircraft lifting up to 16 tonnes of Norwegian seafood on the lower deck.
