May 28, 2019 (newstodate): The 4th international airport to serve the Moscow area, Ramenskoye Zhukovsky Airport has high ambitions of serving as a new tranfer hub for traffic between China/Russia and Europe.
The airport is teaming up with the Russian carier IrAero to develop a traffic system generating transfer of passengers from China and remote parts of Russia to destinations in Europe and v.v.
In the fleet of IrAero are now three Boeing 777-200 and eight Superjet 100, as well as three CRJ200LR, and 17 An-24 and An-26 aircraft.
With its HQs at Irkutsk in Siberia, the carrier will operate the long-haul Boeing 777 aircraft on routes between Zhukovsky Airport and destinations in China as well as remote destinations in Russia, while the traffic to Europe will be performed with Superjet 100 aircraft.
The privately-owned carrier plan s to announce its coming traffic program shortly - but will still have to struggle with finances after having signed an agreement with creditors and investors to bring it under public control
