May 23, 2019 (newstodate): Mittarfeqarfiit, Greenland Airports, managing the country's 13 airports and 46 helipads, has now named its new CEO: Henrik Estrup, with effect from June 1, 2019.
The position as CEO for Greenland Airports became abruptly available as Marie Fleischer, appointed only on June 1, 2017, stepped down in March 2019.
Ms Fleischer took up her position after a prolonged search to find the successor to Jens Lauridsen, who served as Managing Director from 2012, but stepped down from the office by the end of August 2016.
Mr Estrup brings in experience from management positions in various Greenlandic industries, but has no prior connection to airport or aviation industries.
His appointment will hopefully end a continued top-executive turbulence amid a period with large projects to build a new airport infrastructure upgrading both domestic and Atlantic flight services under continued public uncertainty and politicization.
