May 22, 2019 (newstodate): China's civil aviation industry is growing at a rapid pace, and expects to become the world's largest civil aviation market by the mid '20ies.
By the end of 2018, Chinese carrier operated a total of 3,639 aircraft, 343 more than in 2017, according to statistics from CAAC.
In 2018, Chinese air carriers completed a total of 11.53 million flight hours, an increase by 8.9 percent.
9.34 million hours were operated on domestic air routes, up 8.4 percent, y-o-y, while more than 2.19 million hours were operated on international air routes, an increase by 10.8 percent compared to 2017.
China is thus today the world's 2nd largest civil aviation market, trailing only after USA.
