May 02, 2019 (newstodate): The really good news from Denmark's Billund Airport: passenger volumes reached a record-high 312,591 in April 2019 - an increase by 12 percent, y-o-y.
The less-good news from Billund Airport: cargo volumes are still marked by stagnation, or downright decline, at 5,641 tonnes in April - down 0.9 percent.
While export figures still provide some comfort with an increase by 1.3 percent to 3,687 tonnes, imports are in a sustained decline, down 4.8 percent to 1,954 tonnes in April.
For the first four months of this year, cargo volumes are thus at 23,514 tonnes, which is up only 0.9 percent, y-o-y, including 16,095 tonnes of exports, up 5.8 percent, while imports are down 8.2 percent, to 7,419 tonnes.
One factor hampering the April-figures on cargo could be this year's Easter in the latter part of April.
