Apr 23, 2019 (newstodate): At a ceremony in Valetta on April 18, 2019, Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Ian Borg presented SmartLynx with their AOC at MAviO's head office.
   The Latvian ACMI carrier SmartLynx is thus now cleared to offer charter and ACMI services through its Maltese subsidiary SmartLynx Malta that starts out with one Airbus A320, leased from Aercap and delivered March 25, 2019, in the fleet.
   SmartLynx is already well acquainted with Malta after having operated many charter flights to Malta for various tour operators.
   Among SmartLynx' existing ACMI customers is also Air Malta that leased one of the carrier's 16 Airbus A320 aircraft during the past Christmas winter peak.
