Apr 30, 2019 (newstodate): The clean-up after an airline bankruptcy is always a complicated matter - and the demise of the Icelandic LCC WOW Air is no exception.
Seven of WOW Air's fleet of nine Airbus A320 aircraft were on lease contracts with ALC that has recovered all but one aircraft, detained by Isavia as security for debts incurred by the defunct airline at Keflavik Airport.
This is now causing a serious fight between Isavia and ALC that claims that the detention of the aircraft is illegal and that the leasing company will pursue any available ways to get the aircraft back.
-Isavia's advancement and demand for unrelated companies to be liable for debts that come without its awareness and Isavia itself is responsible is at once unforeseeable and incomprehensible, says Steve Udvar-Házy, cited by Icelandic media.
