Apr 03, 2019 (newstodate): Ryanair Sun, Ryanair's Polish subsidiary, has contracted BGS, Baltic Ground Services, to provide handling of its traffic at Warsaw Chopin Airport.
The contract takes effect from April 26, 2019, comprising passenger, luggage and other services on some 90 weekly Ryanair Sun flights.
Ryanair Sun, to be re-branded Buzz, was registered as a company on July 13, 2017, headquartered at Warsaw, with bases at Katowice, Poznan, Warsaw and Wroclaw.
Starting out with five Ryanair Sun aircraft, Buzz will be operating a fleet of 17 Boeing 737-800 aircraft on Polish register, increasing to 25 aircraft in summer 2019 already.
Granted its Polish AOC on April 3, 2018, with just one Boeing 737-800 aircraft on Polish registration, Ryanair Sun performed its first commercial flight on April 26, 2018.
Since 2010, the privately-owned Lithuanian ground services provider Baltic Ground Services Polska has been operating at airports in Warsaw, Krakow, and Katowice.
