Apr 26, 2019 (newstodate): Aiming at start of services from June 14, 2019, the new Danish airline venture, Great Dane Airlines reports steady progress in preparations.
-We have all eight cockpit crew positions filled, and the last of 12 cabin crew positions are being finalized these days, says Thomas Hugo Moller, Great Dane Airlines CEO.
-We are cooperating closely with the Danish CAA to obtain our AOC, and we expect this process to be completed shortly as well.
To be based at Aalborg Airport, the carrier will offer scheduled flights to destinations including Dublin, Edinburgh and Nice, and Great Dane Airlines has also landed a contract with tour operator Bravo tours for flights to leisure destinations out of Copenhagen, Billund and Aalborg, complementing the scheduled flights where tour operators may also book allotments.
The carrier will start out with two Embraer E-195 aircraft on a lease contract with the Brazilian carrier Azul Airlines that operates no less than 60 aircraft of this type in its 127 aircraft fleet
