Apr 16, 2019 (newstodate): Moscow Cargo, at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, is the largest cargo terminal, not only in Russia, but in the CIS region as well as Eastern Europe.
Covering 43,200 sq m and with the capacity of handling 380,000 tonnes of cargo annually, the terminal is equipped with an automated storage system manufactured and implemented by Loedige, which is a unique feature in the Russian Federation and providing a level of automation of operations at 60 percent.
The terminal area is divided into two independent zones - one dedicated to containers and another to bulk storage of shipments, all controlled by a single automated control system.
Commissioned in 2017, the terminal is capable of handling cargo of all hazard classes, including radioactive materials.
