Apr 15, 2019 (newstodate): Kazakhstan's Qazaq Air is expanding its aircraft fleet in 2019, and plans to grow its services.
The carrier has thus taken delivery of its fourth Bombardier Q400 aircraft, and a fifth aircraft will join the fleet already in May 2019.
With the larger fleet, the airline plans to increase the frequency of flights on existing domestic routes, as well as launch regular flights to new foreign destinations primarily in the CIS region.
In December 2018, Qazaq Air obtained IOSA certification, allowing it to operate scheduled international services.
The carrier thus became the third airline in the country with IOSA certification, alongside Air Astana and SCAT.
Qazaq Air performed its first commercial flight on August 27, 2015, and besides being now allowed to start international services the carrier can also enter code-share agreements with other airlines under its IOSA certificate.
