Apr 10, 2019 (newstodate): Hopes long nurtured for flights between South Korea and the Nordic region may gain fresh tailwind with the formation of a new Korean long-haul LCC.
The Korean start-up low-cost carrier Air Premia is currently under formation and has opted for a single aircraft type fleet of Boeing 787-9, with the first three to be delivered in 2019 on a lease contract with ALC.
The first aircraft will be delivered already in July 2019, with the next two in 2019 slated to arrive by September and November, respectively.
Plans are so far to grow the fleet to 10 Boeing 787-9 aircraft by 2024, and the carrier will focus on medium and long-haul operation in competition with Korean Air and Asiana.
The start will see flights by Air Premia to destinations in Asia, but from 2021 the network will expand to comprise destinations in Europe and USA as well.
