Apr 01, 2019 (newstodate): After a slow start in cargo at Denmark's Billund Airport, figures on volumes handled in March 2019 are more positive.
Actually, the airport handled a total of 6,635 tonnes of cargo in March 2019, which is an increase by 11.3 percent, y-o-y.
Volumes include 2,065 tonnes of imports, increasing 9.6 percent, and 4,570 tonnes of exports that rose even more, up 12.1 percent, y-o-y.
During Q1, 2019, the airport has thus handled a total of 17,873 tonnes of cargo, a modest increase by 1.5 percent, with imports down by 9.4 percent, and exports rising 7.3 percent.
Q1 statistics are, however, always marked by effects from the changing dates of China's new year as well as the Easter holiday periods, rendering direct comparisons volatile.
