Mar 28, 2019 (newstodate): 21 airlines were weighed on nine parameters by seafood forwarders in Schenker Norway's contest for the Seafood Airline Award 2018.
The parameters were: Experienced Flexibility, Route Network, Terminal Handling, Flown as Booked, Proactivity when Delays, Claims Handling, Schedule Predictability, Value for Money, and finally Overall Expectations and Requirements.
And the winner announced at the Schenker Seafood Seminar 2019 was.....Qatar Airways!
Qatar Airways was ranked #1 in Experienced Flexibility, Terminal Handling, Proactivity when Delays, Overall Expectations and Requirements, as well as scoring #2 in Route Network, Schedule Predictability, Claims Handling, and #3 in Flown as Booked.
Another Gulf Carrier fared well, too: Emirates that was #1 in Route Network, Claims Handling, and Schedule Predictability, while scoring #2 in Terminal Handling, Proactivity when Delays, and #3 in Overall Expectations and Requirements.
Korean Air Cargo was ranked #1 in Flown as Booked, and AirBridgeCargo topped the list on Value for Money.
UPS was ranked #2 for Experienced Flexibility, where Thai Cargo ranked #3; Thai Cargo was also #3 in Route Network and in Proactivity when Delays, as well in Claims Handling, and ABC was #3 in Terminal Handling, in Overall Expectations and Requirements, and in Schedule Predictability, as well as #2 in Flown as Booked.
Finally, Eva Air secured a #3 in Value for Money.
All, excepting Qatar Airways, thus close, but no cigar in 2018!
