Mar 28, 2019 (newstodate): Sukhoi vehemently refutes media reports claiming that the Mexican carrier Interjet has decided to roll the Superjet 100 aircraft out of the fleet.
Interjet has placed orders for 30 Superjet 100 aircraft and is already taken delivery of 22 aircraft, while only seven are currently operated, allegedly due to lack of technical support and spares.
Instead, Sukhoi claims that the two parties are in talks over "solutions of a different nature" enhancing the efficiency of the airline's Superjet 100 operations.
Today, Russian airlines operate a total of 105 Superjet 100 aircraft, while 33 aircraft are in service with foreign customers including Interjet, CityJet, The Royal Thai Air Force, and the state of Kazakhstan.
