Mar 12, 2019 (newstodate): Norwegian is taking further steps into Denmark's domestic air travel with the opening of flights on a new route between Billund and Copenhagen.
Norwegian will perform the first flight on April 1, 2019, as part of the coming summer 2019 schedule.
The carrier will start out modestly with only two weekly rotations around the weekends to serve tourists into Billund's Lego Park, as well as providing connections from Billund to Norwegian's intercontinental flights at Copenhagen Airport.
Norwegian has been serving the route between Aalborg and Copenhagen since 2008, and is now the leading carrier on this route in competition with SAS.
Norwegian also attempted to enter the route between Karup and Copenhagen from May 2012, but pulled out again from March 27, 2015, due to low booking figures.
