Mar 15, 2019 (newstodate): Without much ado, the Lithuanian ACMI and charter carrier GetJet Airlines is rapidly expanding its aircraft fleet capacity in all segments in 2019.
After taking in its, and the Baltic region's first, wide-body passenger aircraft in the form of an Airbus A330-300 by the start of this year, GetJet Airlines is also to take delivery of its first Pilatus PC-12 aircraft, now recruiting flight deck crews for this new aircraft type.
At the same time, GetJet has earlier announced signing a lease contract with GECAS for three A320-200 aircraft, all slated for delivery by spring 2019 already.
With the three A320 deliveries completed, GetJet Airlines will have a fleet of 15 aircraft, including seven A320 and seven Boeing 737 classics as well as one Airbus A330-300 aircraft - to which will now be added one or more Pilatus PC-12 aircraft that will also be new in the Baltic region.
The Airbus A330-300 will be dedicated to charter operations by tour operators as well as the ACMI market; the enhanced A320 fleet will allow the carrier to expand its share of the charter market in the wake of the demise of Small Planet Airlines, while the market has still to learn about plans for the short-haul Pilatus PC-12 aircraft.
Based at Vilnius Airport, GetJet Airlines is member of the Estonian Completec Group that is also active in the MRO business through a Lithuanian subsidiary JSC Termicom that is planning for a new MRO facility at Lithuania's Siauliai Airport.
