Mar 04, 2019 (newstodate): UK-based aircraft financing company Skytech-AIC is again to manage the sale and leaseback of a further series of 10 Airbus A220-300 aircraft for Latvia's airBaltic.
The 10 aircraft are slated for delivery to the operator starting from November 2019.
The agreement between the two parties follows on a similar arrangement in 2018 comprising two series of six similar aircraft delivered successively from June 2018.
In 2019, airBaltic will take delivery of the last six Airbus A220-300 aircraft completing the first order, while having already signed up for 30 more to follow as well as a further batch of 30 aircraft to be scheduled at a later date.
In the carrier's fleet are now 14 Airbus A220-300, 11 Boeing 737 and 12 Bombardier Q400 aircraft, and the carrier has announced that the Boeing 737 aircraft will leave the fleet already by this autumn while the Bombardiers are next in line for being phased out, leaving airBaltic as an all-Airbus airline within three years.
