Mar 01, 2019 (newstodate): The last remaining CIS country on the EU Air Safety Black List, Kyrgyzstan has high hopes to be lifted off in 2019.
At the beginning of April 2019, Kyrgyzstan will undergo the fourth ICAO audit, and the action plan to remove Kyrgyz airlines from the black list signed in February 2017 is now fulfilled by 96 percent, according to the Kyrgyz CAA.
Since 2007, all Kyrgyzstan's carriers have been on the EU Black List barring them from operating into EU markets.
In the country are now 22 airlines, 10 of which operate on own AOC.
Four carrier are dedicated to passenger transportation, while the remaining carriers are cargo and special airlines.
