Mar 25, 2019 (newstodate): The new Danish airline venture, Great Dane Airlines based at Aalborg Airport is now preparing for launch of flights on its first three routes in the summer schedule.
Flights from Aalborg to Dublin are thus scheduled to start from June 21, 2019, with two weekly rotations, flights to Edinburgh will commence from June 24 with two rotations, and flights to Nice from June 26 will be added from June 26, 2019.
From the start, Great Dane Airlines will be operating two Embraer E-195 aircraft with 118 seats on a lease contract with a yet-unannounced company.
-Besides serving our first scheduled flights, Great Dane Airlines will be operating flights for tour operators including Bravo Tours and Nilles Rejser. This contributes to building the critical mass required for profitable operations, says Thomas Hugo Moller, Great Dane Airlines Managing Director.
-Starting out with two aircraft will also secure back-up capacity without relying on external providers, as well as enable us to respond to ad-hoc charter requests.
-From the start, Great Dane Airlines will have 12 pilots and 18 cabin crew members based at Aalborg Airport, but plans are to look into flights also from other Danish airports as business grows, says Mr Moller.
