Mar 29, 2019 (newstodate): At a meeting in Stockholm on November 15, 2018, some 50 stakeholders in Sweden's air cargo industry met to establish Air Cargo Sweden as a community, spearheaded by Swedavia.
After a non-alcoholic toast officially declaring the birth of Air Cargo Sweden, participants signed up for six working groups. And this process is now taking firm shape.
One group, chaired by Mia Nilsson, Schenker Sweden, is now focusing on digitization of working processes. Another group, chaired by Tomas Granmar, PostNord, is discussing challenges from e-commerce, mail and express businesses, and a third group, chaired by Adam Gunnarsson, Kales, is seeking ways to attract and secure human resources in the form of young people in the educational systems to fill future positions in the industry.
A fourth group, chaired by Mattias Ljungberg, Scanlog, is focusing on new developments such as drones, driver-less vehicles and augmented reality technologies; a fifth group, chaired by Joakim Frank, NordicGSA, works with operational excellence, seeking inspiration on cargo issues from other airports; and finally Pharma, including e.g. CEIV, is in the focus of a group chaired by Kim Forslund, North Air Logistics.
Air Cargo Sweden is soon to launch a new dedicated website to promote its activities - www.aircargosweden.se
