Mar 29, 2019 (newstodate): The privately-owned carrier Georgian Airways has named a new CEO - Roman Bokeria, currently residing in the USA.
At least, Mr Bokeria will provide a fresh breeze to the office as he has absolutely no aviation-related experience on his CV.
Mr Bokeria graduated from the Faculty of World Economy and Banking at the St Petersburg State University (1992-1996), continuing his studies at Tbilisi State University in the Faculty of Business Law (1997-2003).
In 2008-2010, he studied at the University of Tampa, John H. Sykes College of Business, receiving his Master Degree in Business Administration in Finance and Investment.
Mr Bokeria is currently on the Residential Board at Miami Association of Realtors, serves as State Director at Florida Association of Realtors as a licensed Real Estate broker, licensed Business Brokerage broker and licensed Mortgage Lending broker in Miami.
Georgian Airways is thus sure to be heading for a fresh beginning.
The position as CEO was earlier filled by Givi Davitashvili who left the office after 12 years with the company including three years as CEO, to take up a new assignment from March 2019 as First Deputy Director at Georgia's Civil Aviation Agency.
