Mar 20, 2019 (newstodate): The single-engine Pilatus PC-12 aircraft has found its first operator in the Baltic Region: Lithuania's GetJet Airlines, based at Vilnius Airport.
The Lithuanian charter/ACMI carrier has purchased its first PC-12 aircraft and is now hiring cockpit crews for the new aircraft type.
-The Pilatus PC-12 is a new model for us, so we are testing its potential and evaluating how much demand there is for the types of services it can offer, says Darius Viltrakis, GetJet Airlines CEO.
-We already have plans to add one more Pilatus PC-12 to our fleet, and after that we will be closely assessing the demand in the market.
-If our first steps go well, we are ready to consider further additions, says Mr Viltrakis.
After EASA's approval on March 1, 2017, of single-engine turbine aircraft for commercial operations in Europe, the PC-12 can now be operated commercially at night and under instrument flight rules across all 32 EASA member states.
The Pilatus PC-12 aircraft seats up to eight passengers and offers flight with a 3,000 km range.
