Mar 19, 2019 (newstodate): EU has launched a new aviation safety project in Ukraine, signed in Kiev on March 15, 2019, with the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine.
In the first year, the project's experts will verify Ukraine’s existing legislation against the European Aviation Safety Agency Basic Regulation.
The secondary regulatory framework will then be upgraded in accordance with EU standards, and all Ukrainian registered airlines, training organizations and flight crews will be required to comply with the new standards.
The project’s experts will train the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine’s staff and industry throughout the project to build knowledge, competencies and awareness of EU-based rules and practices.
The reform of the transport sector in Ukraine will constitute a further step towards a Common Aviation Area agreement between EU and Ukraine, allowing EU and Ukrainian registered airlines to operate direct flights between any airport in the EU and Ukraine.
