Feb 08, 2019 (newstodate): Ukraine International airlines is mulling plans for a future launch of services to Africa.
According to the carrier's CEO, speaking at a press conference this week, UIA is considering opening up flights within a few years between Kiev and Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, as its first entry point into the continent, possibly already in 2020.
The vision builds on the notion that due to its geographical position Ethiopia is a perfect hub for African flights to Europe with Kiev as a transfer point with connections to a range of other European destinations.
As a first step, UIA is in talks with Ethiopian Airlines over potentials in a cooperation to prepare the groundwork for a coming new route.
