Feb 13, 2019 (newstodate): Cargo volumes grew in January at Lithuania's Vilnius Airport, compared to last year's figures.
A total of 1,016 tonnes of cargo was handled, which was an increase by 7.84 percent, y-o-y.
Volumes included 812 tones of cargo and 204 tonnes of mail.
The increase in January's volumes is significant as January 2018 was already up 21.3 percent on the preceding year, and all-year 2018 volumes through Vilnius Airport rose 7.2 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 9,739 tonnes of cargo.
One driver behind the airport's growth in cargo volumes is the launch of Turkish Cargo's two weekly Airbus A330-200F freighter services at Vilnius starting from April 19, 2018
