Feb 28, 2019 (newstodate): Norway's exports of salmon to the Chinese market seems now to be lifting off in 2019.
During the first eight weeks of this year, the export volumes to China reached 4,008 tonnes, which was up 43 percent on last year.
Volumes to Hong Kong dropped, however, to 2,284 tonnes which was down 19 percent, y-o-y.
Taiwan also saw imports of Norwegian salmon down by eight percent to 1,365 tonnes.
On a bright note, exports to South Korea saw an increase by 14 percent to 3,169 tonnes during the period.
