Feb 15, 2019 (newstodate): The new Danish airline venture, Great Dane Airlines is intent on making a serious entry into the market right from the start. -We are establishing the airline as a real, not a virtual carrier right from the beginning, says Thomas Hugo Moller, Great Dane Airlines managing director and co-owner. -We are therefore already into the process for obtaining an own AOC and plans are to start out from June 14, 2019, with an initial fleet of two Embraer 195 aircraft sourced from a world-leading lessor. -We are to recruit eight cockpit crews and 12 cabin crews for a start, based at Aalborg Airport where we will be offering flights to destinations including Dublin, Edinburgh and Nice. -The booking machine is currently being set up at our base, and bookings will be opened from March 5, 2019. -We have met a strong response in the market for our coming new services and have landed a contract with tour operator Bravo tours for flights to leisure destinations out of Copenhagen, Billund and Aalborg, complementing our own scheduled flights where tour operators may also book allotments, says Mr Moller.
