Feb 25, 2019 (newstodate): At long last, Norwegian has brought its Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft back to Scandinavia.
The aircraft was stranded since December 14, 2018, in Shiraz Airport, Iran, after meeting engine problems on the flight from Bangkok to Oslo.
Since then, the process of bringing in a new replacement engine was delayed by a number of issues including the US government shut-down, the effects from the harsh US embargo in trade with Iran, the abrogation of the international currency transfer system, and Norwegian's lack of experience with dealing with the Iranian authorities.
The aircraft landed at Stockholm Airport on February 23, 2019.
