Feb 14, 2019 (newstodate): Riga Airport is still the Baltic region's leader in cargo volumes, while cargo did drop in January 2019.
A total of 2,124 tonnes of cargo was handled at Riga in January, which is down 13.7 percent, y-o-y.
Volumes included 1,175 tonnes of cargo, down 28.3 percent, and 949 tonnes of mail that increased by 14.9 percent, y-o-y.
The comparison to January 2018 is, however, blurred by last year's exceptionally steep growth in cargo that rose by 87.3 percent, y-o-y, to 2,464 tonnes due to special cargo operations.
Back in January 2017, volumes reached 1,670 tonnes after dropping 15.3 percent, y-o-y.
