Feb 08, 2019 (newstodate): Copenhagen Airport saw its total cargo volumes down by 2.5 percent, y-o-y, on 2018, landing at 356,343 tonnes.
Excluding the integrator traffic, volumes were 278,687 tonnes, down six percent y-o-y, while the integrators DHL and FedEx generated 77,657 tonnes, growing 12.5 percent in 2018.
Again excluding the integrators, the airport saw belly cargo loads up 5.7 percent, while loads on freighters dropped 23.8 percent, mail volumes were down 5.5 percent, and trucked cargo also declined by 8.3 percent, compared to 2017.
For the integrators, volumes in belly compartments dropped 11.7 percent, while cargo on the freighters rose 2.9 percent.
The big increase was however seen in the integrators' trucked cargo that saw volumes up by 86.6 percent, y-o-y.
DHL is to bolster its presence at Copenhagen Airport further by starting construction of a new 26.172 sq m sorting facility capable of handling up to 37,000 parcels per hour, slated for commissioning in 2023.
According to CPH Cargo's own strategy for 2019-22, the airports aims at growing its total cargo volumes by 475,000 tonnes already in 2022.
