Feb 05, 2019 (newstodate): Five Airbus A220-300 aircraft for the Latvian carrier airBaltic are currently on the final assembly line, awaiting delivery in 2019.
Also a sixth aircraft is slated for production in 2019, to round off by the end of this year the series under the original order totaling 20 aircraft placed by the carrier.
Next to follow is then the start of deliveries under a fresh firm purchase agreement signed on May 28, 2018, for another batch of 30 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, with options for an additional 30 aircraft of the same type.
The all-Airbus A220-300 fleet provides the backbone of airBaltic's business plan Destination 2025 that builds on the progress of the current airlines business plan Horizon 2021, which laid the groundwork for future expansion.
airBaltic was the launch carrier of the CS300, later renamed Airbus A220-300, with its first CS300 on scheduled flights from December 14, 2016.
