Dec 05, 2019 (newstodate): Citing the sustained problems with Boeing MAX deliveries, Ryanair has informed investors that two more bases will be closed down.
On the shortlist is Sweden's Stockholm Skavsta Airport that is actually the first Ryanair base in Sweden, opened in summer 1997 and marking also the low-cost carrier's entrance in the Swedish market with a route between London and Stockholm Skavsta.
Ryanair planned to have 20 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in service in 2020, but will now only have 10 - and the release date for this aircraft is still unsettled.
The Skavsta base will be closed by March 29, 2020, but Ryanair will still be operating flights at the airport, with aircraft routed from other airports.
