Dec 13, 2019 (newstodate): Starting from Sunday, December 15, 2019, a new cargo carrier is adding capacity for Norway's seafood exports to China.
Suparna Airlines will be serving the market with a twice-weekly Boeing 747-400F freighter flying in from Amsterdam and returning from Oslo to Nanjing Lukou International Airport, west of Shanghai.
-Besides serving this core market with point-to-point capacity, scheduled trucking services will provide onward transportation to a spree of Chinese destinations spanning from Guangzhou in the south to Dalian in the north, says Petter Bjerkenaes, Air Trade Support Sales Manager - the carrier's GSA in Scandinavia.
-Norway's seafood export is of course the key driver behind this new service that will actually be Oslo's only direct non-stop freighter to China.
-But we will be marketing the freighter also in the Swedish market, especially for main deck cargo that would add higher-yield shipments to support the freighter operation and benefit from the trucking services as well, says Mr Bjerkenaes.
As earlier reported by newstodate, the Boeing 747-400F service was triumphally announced by Avinor to start already from September 1, 2019, which proved to be overly optimistic..
