Dec 12, 2019 (newstodate): In November 2019, Riga Airport saw its cargo volumes up by 3.8 percent, y-o-y.
A total of 2,473 tonnes was handled, including 1,356 tonnes of cargo and 1,117 tonnes of mail.
Cargo volumes thus increased by five percent, and mail volumes were up 2.5 percent in November.
January-November volumes are, however, still down by four percent, y-o-y, to 24,678 tonnes, as this year's cargo statistics are marked by the impact of the pull-out from April 19, 2018, of Turkish Cargo's two weekly freighter services at Riga Airport since July 1, 2017.
In 2019, cargo at Riga Airport was thus dramatically down in the statistics covering the first four months of the year, while volumes have been rising steadily since May proving a sound, underlying trend.
